A new summer drinking concept is being rolled out at The Standing Goose. Aside from now brewing beer in-house, The Goose will also host a summer 'Beer Market' daily from 5pm onwards.
"The basic concept is all beers start super cheap, at close to cost prices, at 5pm and go up by RMB5 every hour when Tony (The Goose's manager) or a bartender will ring our bar bell to signify the price change," said owner Aaron Chu. "At 12am prices will drop again every hour."
The idea is simple and absolutely brilliant. In a city often known for expensive expat drinking locations, this new summer promotion will make it affordable to grab a beer after work with some thirsty co-workers.
According to Chu, the cheapest option (at 5pm anyway) will be RMB10 pints of Asahi, followed by pints of Lazy Guys' stout for RMB15. Other 5pm beer special highlights include RMB25 pints of Merchants' IPA and Vedett Extra White.
The always-enjoyable BrewDog Punk IPA is the most expensive beer at 5pm, with a starting price of RMB30 per pint.
Aside from great deals on beer, The Goose will be offering a variety of other drink specials and interactive nightly events to keep you engaged with the bar's eclectic clientele.
